BOOKS

Here we list and discuss some of our favorite books that cover a variety of topics. All of them can help make you into a better trader and live a more fulfilling life. We organize them by category, tag them by difficulty, and list what we consider the most essential books.  This is not a complete list but rather a list of the books we know of; we will be continually adding to this.

WEBSITES

These are some of the most used websites when it comes to trading and investing. Each category can help your
trading in some way, shape, or form. Whether it is a website to provide you with news, a site to help build scanners,
or simply a blog where experienced traders share their knowledge, these sites will help you grow as a trader.

TRADING PLATFORM REVIEWS

Here we review some of the many trading platforms available to you. We provide brief write-ups as well as brief
video walkthroughs on what we like and don’t like about the platforms from a trading perspective. Each review only
scratches the surface of the platform but can give you a good overview of what the platform provides.

SOFTWARE REVIEWS

These are very brief reviews of some of the software you can use to enhance your trading. Each review is simply
meant to inform you of the options you have available to you in hopes that they may better improve your trading.

Scanning Sites

A good FREE site to look to get a lot of basic info on securities, use FREE online charts, some basic scanners for top stocks in play, and more. This site gives a lot of info without needing to sign up and many people like to use their charts and services when doing analysis.
A great FREE site to set up your own personal scanners and filters. We cover this more extensively in the software reviews but Finviz can set up some very decent scanners for free.
Another FREE site that gives you some basic market information, can tell you what some of the more active stocks in play are and has decent features that can report on things like earnings, dividends, and more. Their premarket scanner page can be a good tool to find top movers prior to the open.
We have not used this site before but it was suggested to us and upon first glance, it seems to have a lot of potential. Good scanners and screening software and a lot of pattern identification could potentially be worth looking at.

Callouts/Other Trader Sites

A very experienced trader over many years offers his insights on the markets and what he perceives the sentiment to be. His website and youtube can be very informative and he has webinars and other resources.
A futures and options trading community that can provide further insight and community to traders. We are not super familiar with them but they have a blog and chatroom that may be worth you investigating.
A trader who puts out his own blogs and long term stock callouts. His chatroom and long term swing position callouts and targets may provide benefits to traders who look into them.
A very helpful and respected pre-market show. They have a live online webinar every trading day from 8 AM est to 9 AM est. Their guests and analysis tend to be very insightful and can give you VERY helpful insight on how participants in the market think.
A very helpful website that several largely successful traders use to broadcast their positions, show their live results and post their video and blog lessons. The positions and videos in here, if in line with your trading style, may be a big benefit and boost.

A paid site that allows you to effectively track stock mergers and acquisitions. This can be a very helpful site to see new deals, see the details of deals and usually get links to the legal documents themselves.

Blogs

A full-time blog that covers things not only in the stock market, but in finance and the U.S economy as a whole. A lot of people see this as a very helpful and insightful economic blog.
The picks and market analysis of a writer and researcher. We are unsure of his background but he tends to favor technical analysis of the markets.
One of three blogs Carl uses to show his views on the markets. About every day he gives guesstimates on what he thinks many of the major markets, commodities, currencies and stocks will do, possibly further giving you insight into things you track.
A “news” site that we categorize as a blog because anyone can make an account and post articles. It does give a lot decent information in terms of what is happening in the world of breaking news and many times stocks can move off of reports from here.
The commentary of a portfolio manager that generally covers top articles from other sites as well as his own favorite stocks in play from a stock and options stance. A very decent aggregate of articles and information
A refreshing site that talks a lot about global economics and politics. This site tends to spark conversation and discussion among the readers and can give you good insight into global events.
This company is dedicated to finding the fraud and bad business of companies and posts pieces about them. They don’t often talk about the upside to companies but rather look for the companies that have “bad signs” or other things they bring to their readers attentions. They may quote others, put price targets or just give their general insights.
The thoughts and insights on the markets and other trading ideas from someone who has watched the markets for a long time. Has both free and premium content, we are not familiar with the premium.

A blog posted from traders on their thoughts and techniques and what they think helps their trading. Not bad as a general basic blog to learn some tips, tricks and helpful ideas. We aren’t sure of the full extent of the content here.
A more market-focused site that gives free reports (as well as some paid) on the markets and some stocks. The free reports tend to be shorter, we are not sure about the paid ones, but they could provide insight if they cover areas you are watching.
An interesting blog focusing primarily on options and that include reviews of their trades and setups. If you like watching the things they cover, this could be right up your ally. It may be worth investigating to see if it is a right fit to add to your list.
A site where you can watch the video analysis of the markets, top stocks in play and trades of a very popular author Brian Shannon. He tends to be more technical focused but does cover some fundamentals if they are worthwhile. His chatroom and videos tend to bring a lot of insight into the things he covers.

Corporate/Market News

One of the more well-known and, for the most part, respected news sites. This website has a subscription fee but will usually cover everything breaking for you and is a stereotypical morning newspaper for finance and traders for a reason. They do have some free sections that can be helpful like the upgrades and downgrades.
An excellent free news site that tends to covers news in companies, markets and more. Very well respected and highly used.
Another very popular news site that tends to be more market-focused. Can have unrelated or unhelpful pieces like any other news site but it is a very popular one for a reason.
